Hi folks! Remember tonight is a tuition night and Angus will show you how to use acrylic (and pastels) in your landscape paintings. You can also bring along paintings you are working on already if you want some help with tricks and techniques from the master himself.
According to Stewart Potter, watercolour is easy. To be honest he did make it look easy until we tried to follow by his example and realised its maybe not quite as easy as we were led to believe!
Thanks to Stewart we had a fab day at Nethybridge community centre on Saturday 27th January. Puddles was the word of the day as Stewart demonstrated puddles of colour (always mix enough) and the rain poured down all day creating puddles outside too.
We learned about the best paint, paper, brushes (Rona!), skies, clouds, hills, trees, bothies and sheep and the importance of Payne’s grey…and all in a day. Thanks to both Stewart and Rona for organising the event and giving us so much fun on a dreich winters day.
Sorry but due to bad weather Art group is cancelled tonight. The timetable has been amended and we will continue with classes next week (fingers crossed).
Xmas trees was the idea but some wayward students went for something a little more individual! As you can see the results were all very creative and fun was had by all . Tonight (13th Dec) is flowers and mixed media so remember to take along something which will inspire you. If you don’t have anything, don’t worry as Angus will have plenty of inspiration for you. Enjoy….
Another fun night printing but lino printing is a bit tricky to get your head round as everything prints in reverse. Some students got the knack pretty quickly and produced some very nice work. Next week it is printing with ‘found objects’ ie feathers, leaves, wool and any other bits and bobs. Maybe we can also add a very clever string trick into the mix?
Everyone agreed, what a fun class it was last night. Angus showed us how to get creative and make some wrapping paper from one small drawing. Everyone produced very different designs so here is a small selection to get you inspired for next week!
Ally Wardlaw’s creative stitch workshop at Nethybridge community centre is currently waiting for confirmation re dates for the group to meet.
Selected dates at the moment are;
Sat. 2nd Sept.
The intention being that the group would meet to share ideas, learn from each other, and pass on techniques old and new to one another. Ally is happy to demonstrate some processes etc. to those unfamiliar with textiles but hopes the group will all work together creatively.
Please contact Ally direct to find out costs.
